2027: ‘Tinubu, APC too desperate’ – Dino Melaye on NRS boss as campaign fund raiser

Former Kogi West lawmaker, Dino Melaye, has accused President Bola Tinubu of desperation by appointing the Executive Chairman of the Nigeria Revenue Service, Zacch Adedeji, as Deputy Director of Fundraising for the 2027 presidential campaign. Melaye, who vowed to contest the appointment in court, made these remarks during an interview on Arise Television’s Prime Time.

He emphasized that Adedeji's dual role as NRS chairman and presidential campaign fundraiser creates a conflict of interest and violates public service rules. Melaye stated that he intends to challenge the appointment legally to expose the APC and President Tinubu's desperation. He criticized the President's "I don't care" attitude and labeled the situation as laughable, indicating that it reveals the true intentions behind Adedeji's appointment.

Melaye also pointed out the presence of the Group Managing Director of the NNPC on the list, further questioning the legitimacy of the selection process. He called out the President and the APC for being corrupt and desperate, emphasizing that Nigeria is no longer a banana republic but rather a country that has been turned upside down.

Melaye expressed his disappointment and vowed to continue fighting against what he perceives as the misuse of power for personal gain.
