2027: Corruption part of requirements to secure appointment under Tinubu- Ex-Buhari’s Minister

Former Youth and Sports Development Minister Solomon Dalung has stated that corruption could be a requirement for securing an appointment under President Bola Tinubu's administration. Dalung made these remarks while discussing Tinubu's newly constituted 2027 Presidential Campaign Council during an interview on Arise Television.

Dalung, who previously served under President Muhammadu Buhari, expressed concerns about the list of names on the campaign council, stating that if it includes individuals with corruption allegations, it raises questions about the future of Nigeria under Tinubu's leadership. He highlighted the case of Abdul'aziz Abubakar Yari, the former Governor of Zamfara State and chairman of the campaign council, who has a history of forfeiting properties and funds to the Nigerian government.

Dalung also mentioned other individuals on the list, such as Betta Edu, who was removed from her position due to corruption allegations, and Ngozi Olejeme, a former Director-General of the Nigeria Social Insurance Trust Fund, who was also investigated for corruption. These allegations, according to Dalung, cast doubt on the credibility of the transition process and the integrity of the upcoming election in 2027.
