김민석, ‘메가텐’ 발표…미래 성장 전략 지원 10개 특별기구

Kim Min-seok, the Democratic Party's representative, announced on the 25th that the National Future Growth Strategy would be supported by 10 innovative special organizations, known as 'MegaTEN'. During a briefing at the National Assembly, Kim unveiled the structure and leadership of MegaTEN. The Mega Growth Special Committee, led by Kim, expanded upon the existing 'Three Mega Projects Special Committee' to oversee the Three Mega Projects and the grassroots growth strategy.

Kim Kwang-ja, the chair of the National Assembly Budget Audit Special Committee, served as the vice-chair, while Kim Gyeong-su, the former governor of Gyeongsang Province, and Lee Eun-ju, the deputy chairman of the National Assembly, assumed the roles of senior and vice senior vice chairs, respectively. The Party Innovation Promotion Unit developed a party reform proposal, focusing on issues arising from the 6·3 local elections and the National Assembly by-election. Party Affairs Task Force Chair Park Ji-won led the unit.

Other special committees within MegaTEN included the Reform of the Democratic Party Committee (led by Kim Gyeong-su, former governor), AI-driven financial restructuring in fintech (led by Lee Soon-woo, former congressman), the National Cultural Festival 'Culture, Korea, and Globalization' (led by Lee Won-jong, actor), the Foreign Policy of the US, China, and Japan (led by Park Jong, congressman), the Youth Policy Committee (led by Kim Han-gyu and Lee Eun-suk, congressmen), and the Second Flame Committee (led by Mo Kyung-song and Kim Young-bae, congressmen).

The Mega Growth Special Committee included representatives from various regions, such as Jeong Chul-min (Industrial & Trade Sub-committee), Yun Ho-yeol (Northern Gyeongbuk), Kim Young-bae (Seoul), Byung Ki-wang (Central Chungcheong), Heo Young (Gangwon), Heo Jong-seok (Incheon), and Im Mi-ah (Busan, Ulsan, and Gyeongsang). The regional divisions were led by provincial and special city representatives, including An Do-gil (South-North) and Song Hee-gon (Special City).
