Another Windows 11 update issue has emerged, this time involving compatibility problems with RGB lighting software and its related components. When these RGB software programs install drivers, they may use file names similar to "inpoutx64," which is causing conflicts with specific games running on Windows 11.

The affected games include ARC Raiders, Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls, and The Finals. When a user attempts to play these games, they may encounter various issues such as freezing, unexpected closes, or even a forced restart of their PC. In some cases, an error message titled "EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION" appears, disrupting the gaming experience.

Microsoft has provided a workaround for this issue, which involves temporarily disabling the inpoutx64 driver through the Windows registry. However, this method is not recommended for users who are not familiar with registry editing, as it could potentially cause problems with the RGB features on their peripherals or components.

To apply the workaround, users need to open the Registry Editor by searching for "regedit" in the Start menu, then navigate to "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\inpoutx64" and modify the "Start" registry value to have a "Value data" of four. Users should also make a note of the previous value, so they can revert the change if any issues arise.

Microsoft is currently investigating the interaction between RGB-related components and the affected games within Windows 11, but no specific timeline has been provided for when a fix will be available.
