UK and Moldovan Parliament buildings lit up in colors of Ukrainian flag

Tonight, the Palace of Westminster in the United Kingdom was illuminated in the colors of the Ukrainian flag, according to a post on the UK Parliament's X page. This gesture marked Ukraine's Independence Day and demonstrated Parliament's solidarity with the Ukrainian people. The caption on the photograph shared by the UK Parliament read, "Tonight the Palace of Westminster is illuminated in the colours of the Ukrainian flag to mark Ukraine’s Independence Day and show Parliament’s support for the people of Ukraine."

In Moldova, the Parliament building also joined in the display of support. A post on the Moldovan Parliament's X page stated that the parliament building was illuminated in the colors of the Ukrainian flag to commemorate Ukraine's Independence Day. The post expressed solidarity with the Ukrainian people, stating, "On Ukraine’s Independence Day, the building of the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova was illuminated in blue and yellow as a symbol of solidarity with the Ukrainian people."

On Monday, August 24, Moldova is set to open a documentary and photo exhibition titled "Revival in Glory and Strength" to commemorate the 35th anniversary of Ukraine's Declaration of Independence. The exhibition, organized by the Embassy of Ukraine in Moldova in collaboration with the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra National Preserve and the National Museum of the Revolution of Dignity, will focus on churches and other sites of Ukraine's sacred heritage that have been destroyed or damaged due to Russia's aggression against Ukraine.
