Two feared killed as crisis rocks Osun motor park

Two individuals are believed to have lost their lives in Ikire, Osun State, following a reported clash at Naira and Kobo Junction between rival groups of commercial transport workers linked to different political parties. The incident occurred around 10:30 am on Monday when Accord-aligned drivers allegedly sought to take control of the motor park from drivers loyal to the All Progressives Congress, APC.

Eyewitnesses described a confrontation involving political thugs from both parties, resulting in damage to a recently donated police vehicle and an alleged shooting of an Accord member. The Osun State Chairman of the Accord party claimed two people, including a bus driver and a passenger, were killed, while the APC accused the state government of allowing violence and called for the arrest of those responsible. The Osun State Police Command has not yet commented on the violence.
