Trump bought shares in Elon Musk's SpaceX in June, financial disclosure shows

On August 24, President Donald Trump invested up to $50,000 in Elon Musk's SpaceX, according to a public financial disclosure, giving him a financial stake in the company run by his former adviser. The president bought shares between $15,001 and $50,000 on June 23, as detailed in a financial disclosure signed on August 12 and made public on August 22.

This purchase was part of over 1,000 stock trades the president made in June. SpaceX had priced its biggest-ever U.S. IPO on June 12, valuing the company at $1.77 trillion. White House spokesman Davis Ingle stated that third-party financial institutions manage the president's portfolio, replicating recognized indexes like the Schwab 1000.

Neither Trump nor any member of his family can direct, influence, or provide input regarding the portfolio's investments or transactions.
