Thousands Join Grand Shiva Processions, Kanwar Yatras On Last Shravan Somvar Across MP

Thousands of devotees participated in grand Shiva processions and Kanwar yatras across Madhya Pradesh during the last Monday of Shravan. In Mandsaur, the royal procession of Lord Pashupatinath was held, featuring an eight-faced idol worshipped and placed on a decorated chariot. MP Sudhir Gupta, Ramadevi Gurjar, Divyank Singh, Vinod Kumar, and other officials performed aarti and pulled the chariot.

Following the procession, MLA Vipin Jain led the cleanup effort, appreciating the initiative for spreading cleanliness alongside faith.

Ratlam's Garh Kailash Seva Samiti organized a royal procession, inaugurated by Collector Ajay Katesaria and SP Amit Kumar. The Garh Kailash Temple's deity was lifted in a palanquin, with temple committee members and devotees joining enthusiastically. In Sendhwa, over 5,000 devotees joined the Lord Birsa Munda Kawad Yatra, organized by the Scheduled Tribe Front of Barwani and Team Rallash Senani. Women, youth, and senior citizens all participated.

Bagh witnessed the 34th annual Kawad Yatra, with 2,100 devotees from 67 villages participating in a 40-kilometer march. The pilgrims carried Narmada water, returning to their villages to offer it at temples. In Kukshi, the Brahmin Swarnakar Samaj Youth Organisation organized its first grand Kanwar Yatra, with 170 devotees walking from Khakchowk Temple to Shri Barudeshwar Mahadev Temple, Loni.

Sunderkand Mitra Mandal in Khetia began its 12th annual Kavad Yatra to Omkareshwar, with over 25 pilgrims carrying holy water from the Tapti River. In Garoth, thousands joined Baba Mahakal's royal procession, featuring palanquins, tableaux, and devotional performances. After the procession, municipal workers cleaned the roads, and former MLA Devi Lal Dhakad participated.
