Taiwan stocks lower at close of trade; Taiwan Weighted down 1.00%

Taiwan stocks experienced a decline in their closing trade on Monday. The Taiwan Weighted index dropped by 1.00%, as losses in the Oil, Gas & Electricity and Plastic sectors contributed to the downward trend. Among the best-performing stocks of the session were Mospec Semiconductor Corp, which rose by 9.97% to close at 53.50, and Lite-On Technology Corp, which added 9.96% to reach 287.00.

HannsTouch Solution Inc also showed a 9.96% increase, closing at 12.70. Conversely, the worst-performing stocks were Lintes Technology Co Ltd, which dropped by 9.93% to 403.50, BizLink Holding Inc, which declined by 9.89% to 2,050.00, and Regal Holding Co Ltd, which fell by 9.89% to 27.80. Falling stocks outpaced advancing ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange, with 664 stocks decreasing while 328 increased, and 128 remained unchanged.

Lite-On Technology Corp saw its shares hit all-time highs, soaring 9.96% to 287.00. Crude oil prices for October delivery saw a 1.69% decrease, falling to $85.59 a barrel. Brent oil for November delivery dropped by 1.49%, reaching $91.29 a barrel, while December Gold Futures experienced a 0.35% increase to $4,697.09 per troy ounce.

The USD/TWD exchange rate decreased by 0.05% to 31.82, and the TWD/CNY remained unchanged at 0.21. The US Dollar Index Futures saw a 0.04% increase, standing at 98.77.
