Suspected cult member dies while fleeing arrest in Ogun

A suspected cult member died while attempting to flee police custody in the Ogun State town of Ikenne, according to a report shared on Monday by security analyst Zagazola Makama. The incident occurred on Sunday afternoon in the Kajola area of Ikenne. An alert resident informed the police that suspected cult members were threatening his life.

Upon receiving the complaint and additional intelligence, police deployed to the scene and arrested one of the suspects, Oluwatimileyin Daniel. As other members of the alleged group attempted to escape, Damola, who was fleeing, collapsed. He was taken to a hospital for treatment but later succumbed to his injuries. The unexpected death of Damola sparked tension and confusion in the community, leading to an increased presence of security personnel. The situation has since been under control, and police investigations are ongoing.
