‘박완수 캠프 관권선거’ 의혹 관련자 사전 구속영장…전·현직 공무원 포함

According to a statement from the Gyeongnam Cyber Investigation Division, four individuals, including current and former Gyeongnam government officials, have been submitted for pre-arrest warrants in connection with the alleged interference of the 'Park Wan-su Gyeongnam Province Governor Campaign Camp' in the 6·3 local elections.

The Cyber Investigation Division stated that they applied for pre-arrest warrants for these four individuals due to concerns over evidence tampering and flight risks. The individuals under warrant are three Gyeongnam government employees who worked on Park Wan-su's election campaign and one employee from the election promotion agency.

Three of these individuals had previously retired from their government positions and joined Park Wan-su's campaign, with one of them returning to the government after the election. One individual, identified as 'K', edited promotional videos for Park Wan-su's campaign within a month of the 6·3 local elections and made this information public in a press conference on June 1st.

'K' claimed that Park Wan-su's campaign instructed them to create a large number of promotional videos using footage received from a special assistant. The footage included original videos that were not edited or publicly released, containing sensitive information about Kim Gyeong-su's private life, Lee Jae-myung's comments from a National Assembly meeting, and criticisms of Kim Gyeong-su's proposed 'Mega City'.

The Gyeongnam Province Election Management Board requested an investigation into 'K' and other campaign members from the relevant prosecutor's office, and both the Park campaign and Kim's campaign filed criminal charges against these individuals for alleged violations of the public election law. Gyeongnam Cyber Investigation Division began executing warrants on June 9th, seizing documents and electronic devices from campaign offices and residences.
