Springboks bank on experience for the next match against All Blacks

Springbok coach Rassie Erasmus acknowledges his team is in a tough spot after losing the first test to New Zealand, but he emphasizes the importance of fighting their way out of it. Erasmus announced the team to face All Blacks in the second test of Rugby’s Greatest Rivalry in Cape Town, just 48 hours after their defeat in Johannesburg.

The former World Cup-winning coach has brought back experienced players such as Handre Pollard and Siya Kolisi. The Springboks' first test saw them struggle defensively, with poor execution in the breakdown area costing them dearly. Erasmus himself took responsibility for the poor performance, attributing it to wrong calls made on tactics inside the 22-meter area.

In the final few training sessions, Erasmus plans to address these issues to fix the team's performance. The Boks have faced similar challenges before and will use their experience to overcome the current setback. Despite being at a disadvantage, the squad now has the opportunity to turn their fortunes around, with Pieter-Steph du Toit set to achieve his 100th cap and Ox Nche earning his 50th test cap.
