Sharjah’s business environment lauded as PBCS signs new MoU

The Pakistan Business Council Sharjah (PBCS) has lauded Sharjah’s leadership for cultivating a secure, diverse, and business-friendly environment, reaffirming its dedication to bolstering trade and commercial relations between Pakistani entrepreneurs and the UAE. The council organized a community and business networking event at the Pakistan Social Centre Sharjah on Sunday, uniting Pakistani business leaders, bankers, exchange company representatives, community figures, and PBCS members.

Prominent attendees included Pakistan’s Trade and Investment Counsellor to the UAE, Ali Zaib Khan; Rashid-ul-Islam, Head of the National Bank of Pakistan in the UAE; and Khalid Chaudhry, President of the Pakistan Social Centre Sharjah.

PBCS Senior Vice Chairman Syed Saleem Akhtar commended Sharjah’s leadership for its contribution to the emirate’s economic and cultural growth, emphasizing that Pakistanis residing and working in Sharjah view the UAE as their second home, appreciating the country’s peace, security, stability, and opportunities. Akhtar asserted that PBCS would persist in promoting business networking, mutual collaboration, and enhanced ties between Pakistani businesses and the broader UAE commercial ecosystem.

Joint ventures Ali Zaib Khan hailed the tribute to Sharjah’s leadership as a significant acknowledgment of the emirate’s progress and accomplishments, lauding PBCS for establishing a platform to enhance business networking, trade relations, and bonds between Pakistani entrepreneurs and the UAE business community. Khalid Chaudhry expressed his appreciation for the initiative, lauding PBCS for uniting business and community leaders.

He also expressed optimism that a recently signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the two organizations would foster greater collaboration, joint endeavors, and fresh prospects for the Pakistani community.

Rashid-ul-Islam underscored the significance of utilizing formal banking channels and legal avenues for remittances to Pakistan, commending PBCS for bringing together banks, exchange companies, and business leaders to explore opportunities for closer cooperation. PBCS and the Pakistan Social Centre Sharjah signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), symbolized by the exchange of commemorative shields, signifying their commitment to cooperation and intensified engagement.

Syed Saleem Akhtar highlighted PBCS's endeavors to establish stronger business connections, foster cooperation, and create new opportunities for the Pakistani business community in the UAE.
