King Felipe VI has reportedly expressed a desire to visit the Spanish city of Ceuta, amid a severe migrant crisis that has caused over 70,000 people to attempt crossing into the territory from Morocco in late July. Over 82 people have died during the crossings, leaving families searching for missing loved ones. The crisis has also strained Ceuta's infrastructure, with many facing issues with accommodation, public services, and security.

King Felipe VI's presence would carry greater significance than a symbolic gesture, as Ceuta is a Spanish territory disputed by Morocco, and the King's visit could send a clear message regarding Spain's territorial integrity. The Spanish Government has not confirmed any official visit, but PP leader Alberto Núñez Feijóo claims the King wants to go and believes it is necessary for the King to be present given his constitutional role in safeguarding Spain's sovereignty and territorial integrity.

Feijóo still needs more details before deciding on a specific date for the visit, but he emphasized that the Government should make the announcement.
