The US Open authorities confirmed Federer's participation on social media, declaring: "An icon is returning to New York!"

Federer will first face his longtime rival Roddick in a one-set singles match, with a deciding point determining the winner if necessary. The two have encountered each other 24 times throughout their careers, with Federer emerging victorious in 21 of those matches. Their rivalry has produced several thrilling Grand Slam encounters, making their exhibition rematch a highly anticipated event at Fan Week.

Following the singles match, Federer will team up with McEnroe for a doubles contest against Roddick and Agassi. The Swiss maestro holds a legendary connection with Flushing Meadows, having claimed five consecutive US Open titles from 2004 to 2008, a feat that remains a joint Open Era record alongside Pete Sampras and Jimmy Connors. Federer's last competitive appearance at the US Open was in 2019, which makes this exhibition his first return to Arthur Ashe Stadium since then.

In a statement, Federer expressed his excitement about returning to the venue where he created some of the defining moments of his career: "Looking forward to being back in New York and adding new memories to so many special ones over the years.
