Revenue inspector, village officer caught taking ₹14,000 bribe in Yadadri Bhuvanagiri

The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) arrested a Revenue Inspector and a Grama Palana Officer in Yadadri Bhuvanagiri district while accepting a ₹14,000 bribe for facilitating the registration of a land sale. The accused, Vemuganti Purnachander Rao and Shaik Ahmed, allegedly demanded the bribe to help the complainant's sister register land they sold.

Purnachander Rao was caught on July 24 during an operation by ACB officials from Nalgonda Range. The bureau stated that the officers engaged in improper and dishonest behavior to gain an unfair advantage. Both officers are being brought before the Additional Special Judge for SPE and ACB cases at Nampally for judicial remand. The ACB is investigating the case and has asked people to report any demands for bribes by public servants through their toll-free number 1064, without disclosing the complainant's details for security reasons.
