Real Sociedad reach agreement with Chelsea to sign Mamadou Sarr

Chelsea and Real Sociedad have reached an agreement for Mamadou Sarr's loan move to the Basque club, according to Foot Mercato. The Senegalese international center-back, 20 years old, joined Chelsea from RC Strasbourg in the 2025 summer transfer window for a fee of €14 million. Sarr was later loaned out to Strasbourg following the season, but was recalled by Chelsea in February.

The player only made seven appearances for Chelsea. Sarr, an academy graduate of Olympique Lyonnais, has left the Blues this summer, allowing Chelsea to sign Maxence Lacroix from Crystal Palace. Real Sociedad's former midfielder Xabi Alonso has reportedly played a significant role in facilitating Sarr's decision to join the Spanish side.
