Rahm, LIV players face uncertain future after season finale at Indy

Jon Rahm wrapped up the LIV Golf season on a high note, claiming his third straight season points title and his second consecutive team championship at the revised finale in suburban Indianapolis. The 31-year-old Spaniard will now await what lies ahead for LIV in 2027, stating he is focused on his family and the upcoming Irish Open.

Michael La Sasso, the 2025 NCAA individual champion, prevailed in a close battle with Rahm, finishing at 18 under par. LIV Golf has faced criticism in recent months, with reports suggesting that Saudi Arabia's sovereign wealth fund would withdraw its investment at the end of the season. The league spent over $5 billion over five years, luring top American and international players away from other tours. However, LIV organizers canceled two events this year and two others were dropped from the schedule.

LIV CEO Scott O'Neil remains optimistic about the future, stating that players will become equity owners and receive their commercial rights back. He has hopes of having five team championships overseas and five individual tournaments in the United States, but he has not disclosed the investor behind the proposed investment. Despite the uncertainty, the final event of the season unfolded largely as planned, with electronic scoreboards, video boards, and temporary suites set up for spectator convenience.
