Premier League manager rates United’s chances of signing their star after matchday one blunder

Manchester United's manager, Matthias Jaissle, has declared that there is "no chance" of the club signing Lewis Hall this summer, following their matchday one blunder. Jaissle made this statement after Newcastle United's 2-2 draw with Liverpool. The speculation that United might sign Hall began when Newcastle's manager, Peter Schmeichel, hinted at the possibility during a press conference.

However, Jaissle firmly denied the reports, stating that United had already made their decision to part ways with the young full-back. It is believed that Hall, who was involved in Liverpool's equalizer at St. James' Park, is interested in a move to Old Trafford. Nevertheless, the Newcastle boss emphasized that they had no desire to let Hall go, especially after significant departures of players like Anthony Gordon, Sandro Tonali, and Bruno Guimaraes.

Despite the setback, United must now search for a suitable replacement, with Barcelona's Alejandro Balde emerging as the most promising option. Balde, a 22-year-old prodigy from La Masia, is said to be keen on staying at Camp Nou, but if Barcelona is serious about selling, he might be open to a transfer. In the current pecking order at United, Balde would compete with Luke Shaw to secure Michael Carrick's first-choice left-back position.
