Port of Duqm handles 34,000 Ro-Ro units in 2026

The Port of Duqm has seen significant growth in its Roll-on/Roll-off (Ro-Ro) operations, handling a total of 34,024 Ro-Ro units through 20 vessel calls as of August 2026, according to a press release by the Oman Observer. Among the total units processed, over 600 were High and Heavy (H&H) units, underscoring the terminal's capacity to handle a wide variety of vehicle and cargo types.

This achievement marks a notable milestone for the port, emphasizing Oman's expanding logistics capabilities and its potential to facilitate the movement of large-scale vehicle shipments. In a single vessel visit, the port managed more than 4,400 units, showcasing its ability to efficiently handle high-volume vehicle movements. The Ro-Ro Terminal has an annual capacity of over 300,000 units, providing the infrastructure needed to accommodate growing vehicle volumes and support the expansion of automotive logistics in Oman.

The port now handles both import and export Ro-Ro cargo, offering customers enhanced flexibility and a broader range of logistics solutions to meet their evolving needs.
