Pokuase residents raise safety concerns over dangerous roadside boarding point

In the Pokuase area, commuters traveling to Circle and other parts of Accra have expressed significant safety concerns regarding a hazardous roadside boarding point. These residents are compelled to navigate metal guardrail barriers to access commercial vehicles destined for Circle and various locations in Accra. According to the residents, commercial vehicles heading towards Dome typically stop at a designated bus stop to pick up passengers.

However, vehicles bound for Circle often park and load passengers directly in front of the metal barriers, leaving commuters with no choice but to climb over the barriers to board the vehicles. This arrangement poses a serious safety risk, particularly during peak hours when traffic congestion is high and vehicles are traveling at elevated speeds.

The residents also lament the prolonged waiting times, with some individuals spending up to an hour waiting for a vehicle by the roadside before reaching their destinations. They are urgently calling upon relevant authorities and transport operators to establish a safer and more convenient loading point for vehicles en route to Circle and other parts of Accra.

Failure to address this issue promptly could result in a catastrophic accident, jeopardizing the lives of daily commuters reliant on commercial transportation.
