PM Package Employees Seek Enhanced Security In Kashmir After Fresh Threat To Kashmiri Pandits Surfaces On Social Media

The All PM Package Employees Forum in Kashmir has written to the Chief Secretary of Jammu and Kashmir, requesting enhanced security measures for Kashmiri Pandit employees working under the Prime Minister's Package in the Kashmir Valley. This request comes after fresh threats were circulated on social media, allegedly posted by an organization called the United Liberation Council (ULC). One affected employee vowed not to be scared or flee from the threats.

The forum highlighted a purported threat poster, dated August 23, containing personal information such as names, addresses, and vehicle numbers of some employees. However, the authenticity of this poster has not been verified by police or security agencies. The forum emphasized that the repeated circulation of such threat letters and posters, particularly those containing sensitive personal information, is deeply concerning.

One Kashmiri Pandit employee involved expressed that they will not be scared or run away from the threats. The forum also recalled a previous threat letter targeting Kashmiri Pandits in the first week of August. The forum urged the administration and security agencies to investigate the origin of these threat letters and identify those responsible for providing them with information.

They also called for an immediate review of security arrangements at the employees' places of work, residential accommodations, and transit routes.
