PM calls for prioritizing growth in fiscal policy

Prime Minister Han Seong-sook has called for the government to prioritize growth in fiscal policy, stating that investment in growth-oriented areas is crucial for maintaining fiscal health. During a parliamentary budget and accounts committee meeting, Rep. Ahn Do-geol of the ruling Democratic Party of Korea inquired about the most effective policy to ensure fiscal health.

Prime Minister Han attributed the recent tax revenue increase to improved company earnings, emphasizing that investing in growth-related parts is the most fundamental approach to maintaining overall fiscal health. She also contrasted the current administration's focus on expansionary fiscal policy with the previous government's contractionary approach, highlighting this as a significant turning point in stimulating economic growth.

Prime Minister Han noted that the country's growth rate was nearly zero percent when the current administration took office.
