Oyo decries FG’s exclusion from state event

The Oyo State government expressed disappointment on Monday regarding the exclusion of Governor Seyi Makinde from the inauguration ceremony of the Ibadan-Ijebu-Ode Road. The Information Commissioner, Prince Dotun Oyelade, conveyed this sentiment in a statement. He remarked that the event, held in Oluyole Local Government Area, was marred by an overly political atmosphere due to a lack of judgment and confidence.

Oyelade pointed out that the reason given for Makinde's absence, his absence on leave, was an inadequate explanation. He argued that the absence of the Governor was less plausible considering the presence of a functional Acting Governor. Oyelade affirmed that Governor Makinde remains undeterred and is unconcerned about the event's transformation into a political event.

He asserted that the course of 2027 is determined and that the people's resolve will not be swayed by any level of impropriety or desperation from any source.
