Notre Dame football 2027 commit out for senior season due to injury

Jackson Hill, a three-star offensive tackle from Chaminade College Preparatory in West Hills, California, has been forced to end his senior season early due to knee surgery. The injury, reported by Eric Sondheimer, has abruptly halted Hill's football career at Chaminade and paused his promising path that led him to commit to Notre Dame from UCLA.

Standing at 6-foot-6 and weighing 300 pounds, Hill is considered one of the top offensive lineman prospects in California. His journey to the football field was unconventional, as he only began playing tackle football in his freshman year. Prior to that, baseball and basketball had been significant parts of his athletic background, which helped him adapt his skills to football.

Notre Dame's assistant general manager, Kenny Sanders, visited Chaminade in April, and Hill and his family established a strong connection with both Sanders and offensive line coach Joe Rudolph. Hill visited South Bend in May, where he received an offer and officially committed to the Fighting Irish a week later. Now, Hill will concentrate on rehabilitation and regaining his strength before next season.
