Norwegian PM visits site of Russian attack on Kyiv

Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre paid an official visit to Ukraine, meeting with State Emergency Service head Andriy Danik at a damaged site in Kyiv, according to Ukrinform. The pair inspected the area struck by Russian forces and Danik briefed the Norwegian delegation on emergency response protocols under wartime conditions. Danik highlighted the challenging circumstances faced by Ukrainian rescue workers, emphasizing that their primary mission remains saving lives and addressing the aftermath of attacks.

Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha accompanied Støre to Kyiv railway station, where they met with leaders from six European nations and other high-ranking officials arriving in the Ukrainian capital ahead of Independence Day. Støre, who had previously commented on Russian attacks, reiterated that Russian forces indiscriminately target civilian infrastructure, including residential buildings, schools, and hospitals, violating international law.
