Netherlands stocks higher at close of trade; AEX up 0.36%

Netherlands stocks surged higher after the trading day ended on Monday, buoyed by strong performances in the Consumer Services, Financials, and Real Estate sectors. The AEX index closed up 0.36%. Magnum Ice Cream Nv led the pack with a 2.64% gain, trading at 17.43 at the close. Unilever PLC and Aegon Ltd also showed impressive gains of 2.45% and 2.22% respectively.

Conversely, SBM Offshore NV, BE Semiconductor Industries NV, and Prosus underperformed with declines of 2.26%, 2.26%, and 1.36% respectively. In a market where rising stocks outnumbered falling ones by a ratio of 51 to 43, a total of 12 stocks closed unchanged. Notably, Magnum Ice Cream's stock hit record highs, rising 2.64% to an all-time high of 17.43.

The AEX Volatility, an indicator of implied volatility in AEX options, remained steady at 21.09. Meanwhile, oil prices saw some fluctuations; October Brent oil fell by 2.62% to $84.78 per barrel, while November Brent oil decreased by 2.26% to $90.58. Gold futures, however, were on the rise, with December contracts gaining 0.76% to $4,716.06 per troy ounce.

Currency-wise, the EUR/USD exchange rate remained unchanged at 1.17, and EUR/GBP also stayed steady at 0.86. The US Dollar Index Futures saw a 0.17% increase to 98.90.
