Maybank Marathon 2026 in Bali Offers Rp3 Billion Prize

The Maybank Marathon 2026 in Bali has unveiled a prize pool totaling Rp3 billion for its victors. The annual event, which saw 14,100 participants from 46 countries, comprised four categories: the full marathon, half marathon, 10-kilometer race, and wheelchair division. Race kickoff began in four stages, with the full marathon starting at 4:20 a.m. Central Indonesian Time, followed by the half marathon, 10-kilometer category, and the wheelchair division.

Maybank Indonesia President Director Steffano Ridwan highlighted the harmonious blend of sports and tourism, stating that sustainability efforts aim to positively impact the local community and government. Kenya's Michael Kimani Kamau emerged triumphant in the Men's Open Marathon division with a time of 2:16:10, while Veronicah Njeri Maina secured the top spot in the Women's Open Marathon with a time of 2:37:22.

The Men's National Marathon was won by Robi Syianturi, clocking in at 2:28:30, and Ina Lydia claimed the Women's National Marathon title with a finishing time of 3:09:55.

Each category winner received respective monetary rewards: Rp260 million for Open divisions and Rp100 million for National divisions. Ridwan reported a surge in runner turnout compared to previous years, which he credited to international participation. Bambang Irawan, Project Director for the Maybank Marathon, emphasized the extensive planning process, detailing preparations for course setup, participant safety, medical services, Race Pack Collection, and race-day logistics.

The most significant challenge, according to Irawan, was ensuring runner safety, comfort, and pride from start to finish. Isania Tarigan, a runner from West Java, secured the runner-up position in the Women's National Marathon, earning Rp18 million. She expressed appreciation for the enthusiastic support from local residents, who provided encouragement to the exhausted runners with their cheers.
