Manchester City and Aston Villa monitoring Rennes striker Estéban Lepaul

Manchester City and Aston Villa are closely monitoring Estéban Lepaul's performances at Rennes, according to L'Equipe. The 26-year-old striker set a Ligue 1 record last season with 21 goals, which helped Rennes secure a Europa League spot. As a reward, Lepaul has signed a contract extension with Rennes until 2030. In a recent match against PSG, Lepaul scored twice, continuing his impressive goal-scoring streak.

He has also been in excellent form recently, scoring in each of Rennes' last six Ligue 1 games. France's national team manager, Zinédine Zidane, might consider calling Lepaul up for the first time next month. Several clubs, including Atlético de Madrid, Napoli, and Como, have shown interest in the talented forward. Now, Premier League giants Manchester City and Aston Villa have also expressed interest in Lepaul.

The Cityzens and the Villans may consider the striker as a potential target if their current center-forwards, Omar Marmoush and Ollie Watkins, leave their respective clubs. Rennes is confident that Lepaul has no plans to request a transfer and does not expect him to leave the club anytime soon.
