Man found dead with acid burns in Kiambaa

Police in Kiambu County are investigating the death of a 59-year-old man named Ferdinand Mulwa Maundu, whose body was discovered outside St. John the Baptist Dispensary in Kiambaa Sub-County. The incident was reported by a clinical nurse at the facility, who had been alerted by members of the public who had brought the body to the dispensary.

Maundu's body exhibited visible burns on his neck and chest, leading police to suspect that he may have been exposed to an acidic substance. The exact cause of the injuries remains under forensic and postmortem examination. CSI officers processed the crime scene and the body was subsequently transported to Kikuyu Hospital Mortuary.

Simultaneously, authorities are probing the murder of a 33-year-old woman found in a coffee farm in Juja Sub-County. The victim was discovered inside a bush near the Juja-Gatundu road, approximately 70 meters from the road. She was reportedly en route to Mtaro Estate, where she worked, when she was allegedly attacked by unknown assailants.

Police believe she endured sexual assault before being strangled. Upon finding the woman, officers noted that her body was partially clothed and exhibited bruising consistent with force and strangulation. The area around the body showed signs of a struggle, and her belongings were scattered around. CSI personnel documented the scene before the body was removed and transported to Thika General Kago Mortuary for preservation until a postmortem examination could be conducted.

Police are actively investigating to identify and apprehend the suspected assailants and determine the sequence of events leading to the woman's death.
