Magdeburg leading race for Bayern youngster Felipe Chávez

Magdeburg is the frontrunner in the race to sign Bayern Munich's young midfielder Felipe Chávez. According to German newspaper BILD's Nicolas Linner, the 18-year-old is seen as a prime target for the Magdeburg club. Other German side Eintracht Braunschweig and Heidenheim, along with Portuguese first-division Estrela Amadora, are also interested in the talented player.

Bayern Munich and Chávez himself are both in favor of another loan move, providing the youngster with the chance to gain valuable game time. Chávez made his senior debut for Bayern in January 2026 and then joined 1. FC Köln on loan for the remaining games of the season. He made seven Bundesliga appearances for Köln before returning to Bayern this summer.

However, current Bayern boss Vincent Kompany does not see a spot for the talented midfielder in his first-team plans. With fierce competition for playing time at Bayern, a loan move is considered the best way for Chávez to continue his development. Despite Magdeburg's strong push, Braunschweig, Heidenheim and Estrela Amadora could still emerge as Chávez's next destination.

Chávez's contract with Bayern is valid until 2028, so his next move will likely see him playing for another club rather than making a permanent decision at Munich.
