KKM batal notifikasi produk krim ada racun berjadual

The Malaysian Ministry of Health has announced that the sale and distribution of Remy Laure Soothing Cream has been halted due to it containing a hazardous substance. The health ministry clarified that the product contained hydroquinone, which resulted in the cancellation of the cosmetic notification. The ministry explained that the product was classified as a drug and required registration with the Drug Control Authority (PBKD) before entering the market.

Products containing hydroquinone can only be used under the supervision and monitoring of a health professional, as improper use may lead to adverse side effects, such as skin discoloration and hypersensitivity. According to the health ministry, selling and distributing this cosmetic contravenes the 1984 Drug and Cosmetic Control Regulations.

Those found guilty may face fines not exceeding RM25,000 or imprisonment for up to three years, or both, for a first offense, and fines not exceeding RM50,000 or imprisonment for up to five years, or both, for subsequent offenses. For individuals, the ministry advises immediate cessation of use and seeking advice from a health professional if any adverse effects or discomfort are experienced.

The public is encouraged to check the notification status of any cosmetic by visiting the official website of the NPRA (www.npra.gov.my).
