Kelantan police hunt depot escapees in numbered greens, warn Kota Bharu residents against direct confrontation

KOTA BHARU, August 23 — Authorities in Kelantan are actively searching for 10 undocumented migrants who recently escaped from the Tanah Merah Immigration Depot, police have confirmed. The fugitives are believed to be identifiable by their bright green detention uniforms, which prominently display printed identification numbers such as 18101 and 18802.

The Kelantan Contingent Police Headquarters has warned the public not to confront the escapees directly, urging them instead to report any sightings or information to the authorities. The escapees are comprised of seven Thai nationals, one Indonesian, one Bangladeshi, and one Rohingya. The Thai Nation News Agency reported that the migrants were under the custody of the Kelantan Immigration Department before their escape.

Police Chief Datuk Mohd Yusoff Mamat confirmed that the fugitives' last known location was Bukit Tebu, Tanah Merah. The Kelantan police are urging the public to immediately notify the authorities if they come across any of the escapees, with contact information provided to the Tanah Merah District Control Centre, Tanah Merah Police Station, or via WhatsApp at 011-2955 5518.
