KDF repels suspected al-Shabaab militia attack in Wajir

Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) personnel on patrol in Wajir County thwarted an attack by suspected al-Shabaab militants on August 22, 2026. The attack occurred near the Kenya-Somalia border in the Konton area. While conducting a mobile patrol, KDF soldiers encountered an unknown number of suspected al-Shabaab militants.
