Justin Kodua Frimpong files nomination to seek re-election as NPP General Secretary

Justin Kodua Frimpong, the incumbent General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has officially submitted his nomination for another term as the party gears up for the 2028 general elections. Frimpong received support from party loyalists and was seen with a sense of optimism, as he expressed confidence in his ability to continue leading the party.

After completing his nomination, Frimpong assured the party members that he would not let them down, stating, "I can assure you that the faith the rank and file of the party have had in me, I will never disappoint them." Additionally, he pledged to conduct a campaign that would be free of personal attacks, promising, "I can assure you that our internal campaign will be devoid of personal attacks."

Frimpong's previous term in office coincided with the NPP losing power to the National Democratic Congress (NDC) following the 2024 general elections, which marked eight years of governance by the opposition. The party is currently undergoing a period of restructuring and internal elections to select new executive members ahead of the 2028 polls.

The General Secretary position is considered a crucial role within the party's administrative framework, as it oversees the day-to-day operations of the party secretariat and implements the party's decisions.
