Johor Military Forces to join National Day celebration for first time

Johor Military Forces (JMF) will join the National Day celebration in Putrajaya for the first time on August 31, Communications Minister Fahmi Fadzil announced. The participation of the JMF, along with their assets and a contingent of 100 personnel, is a unique feature this year, Fahmi stated.

The JMF will be among 1,500 students from 36 schools across Putrajaya, Kuala Lumpur, and Selangor who will be part of the human graphics performance at Dataran Putrajaya. Fahmi expressed confidence in the students' enthusiasm and readiness for the performance.

In addition, military and security assets will be positioned at designated locations, allowing the public to view them up close at Dataran Floria, the monument, and Dataran Aman throughout the celebration. This year, visitors will be able to see and touch the assets at close range, unlike previous years when they had to wait by the roadside.

Fahmi also mentioned that the celebration will feature more floats and contingents compared to previous years, with preparations currently more than 70% complete. The government is expected to finalize health-related standard operating procedures to address concerns related to the haze.
