Israeli settler attacks rise by 63 percent in first seven months of 2026, says Commission

Israeli settler attacks surged by 63 percent in the West Bank during the first seven months of 2026, according to the Colonization and Wall Resistance Commission. The commission reported a significant increase in the number of attacks, with a total of 4,113 attacks compared to 2,524 attacks during the same period in 2025. This represents a rise of 1,589 attacks, or 63 percent, as disclosed by Wafa news on Monday.

The commission emphasized that the 2026 attack figures surpassed those recorded in every comparable month of 2025, with the most notable increases observed in June and July. They clarified that the surge should not be interpreted as a series of isolated incidents, but rather as a consequence of political, security, and legal factors, all of which have been exacerbated by the rapid expansion of settlements since the far-right government came into power at the end of 2022.
