Inside Anurag Kashyap’s Bengaluru home: A cosy space filled with books, films and vintage charm

Anurag Kashyap’s Bengaluru abode radiates intimacy through its earthy hues, vintage furnishings, vast film and book collections. Filmmaker Kashyap and partner Shubhra Shetty hosted journalist Janice Sequira, offering her a view of their gated society home. In the dining area, a solid oak table is flanked by rust-orange chairs, an armchair and a bench with leather straps.

Cream marble flooring, neutral walls and terracotta pot plants lend warmth to the setting. The living room echoes this relaxed vibe, featuring a light-yellow sectional, a brown suede daybed, and two woven cane armchairs with rust cushions.

Floor-to-ceiling glass doors bathe the room in natural light, framed by teal curtains. The living area has a wall-mounted TV, storage cabinets and indoor plants. A separate media nook showcases a wall of dark-wood shelves packed with DVDs, Blu-rays, CDs and books.

Low, informal seating includes a green chaise, a yellow daybed and a beige sofa. The kitchen adopts a contemporary style with light-wood lower cabinets and fully-height pantry units, white quartz countertops and a black granite island. Floor tiles keep the space bright, while a black tile station adds a modern touch. Tropical trees frame a modern balcony, offering a lush outdoor retreat.
