Francis Cloutier, a 39-year-old digital nomad from Canada, now resides in Bangkok, Thailand. He works during the night, aligning with Eastern Time hours, while the city sleeps. Cloutier's journey began in 2019 when he left Canada to explore remote work and travel. His initial travels took him through South America, but it was a friend's invitation to visit Bangkok that ultimately led him to make the move.

Cloutier fell in love with Bangkok's convenience, public transit, and vibrant nightlife. He met his future wife at the bar where she worked, and they got married in April. They now live together in a two-bedroom condo in central Bangkok. Rent for the apartment is around $900 per month.

Despite working during Bangkok's late hours, Cloutier enjoys the city's 24/7 lifestyle, which aligns with his partner's schedule as a bartender. He spends about $1,000 on food monthly and pays around $50 for health insurance. While Bangkok's air quality is a concern, Cloutier believes his quality of life is significantly better than in North America, making him unlikely to return to Canada.
