Morrison explained that the onus was not on the player to inform the referee, stating it was accidental. He emphasized Heggebo's innocence, insisting he wouldn't approach the referee, claiming he "handballed" the ball. The ban has sparked debate about the FA's consistency in enforcing such punishments. Heggebo missed Sunday's 3-1 win over Burnley and the Carabao Cup tie against Newcastle United on Wednesday. Morrison accepted the ban but called for the FA to be consistent throughout the season.
