Four Palestinians killed by Israeli forces in Gaza, including young girl

Israeli forces extended their jurisdiction beyond the designated "yellow line" buffer zone in the south Lebanon town of Haris on Monday. The Israeli tanks and bulldozers entered the town, destroying a road link to homes on its outskirts, according to residents. This action occurred amid a broader wave of Israeli attacks and demolitions across southern Lebanon, where homes and agricultural land were set ablaze in Khiam, and buildings were demolished in Taybeh, Mays Al Jebel, and Yohmor.

In Haris, local official Hussein Jawad noted that the Israeli forces had crossed the yellow line before, but today they entered the heart of the village. Videos showed Israeli armoured bulldozers destroying a paved road, effectively cutting off a populated neighborhood from the rest of the village. Residents fled their homes out of fear after witnessing Israeli troops operating nearby.

Israel has not planned to remain permanently in south Lebanon, having only withdrawn from one small village, yet it continues to occupy dozens of towns, sometimes effectively expanding its control through artillery shelling and air raids. The Israeli military set fire to buildings and agricultural land in Khiam, reducing large areas to rubble following the resumed hostilities between Israel and Hezbollah in early March.

Since the ceasefire in June, Israeli demolitions have persisted in Khiam. A significant bombing operation took place in Taybeh, and in Mays Al Jebel, Israeli forces demolished a temporary school on the western outskirts. Buildings were also destroyed in Yohmor, adjacent to Beaufort Castle. Elsewhere, fighting near the contested Ali Al Taher ridge line occurred, with Israeli air strikes and artillery shelling.

Two men were killed by an Israeli air strike on Sunday in neighboring Kfar Roummane. Iran’s Speaker of Parliament, Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, emphasized the strategic importance of Ali Al Taher, which houses an important Hezbollah base and tunnels, with fighters and Iranian advisers inside, despite its strategic significance.
