Fils claims first ATP Masters 1000 title as Gauff clinches second Cincinnati crown

Cincinnati: Arthur Fils emerged victorious in his inaugural ATP Masters 1000 title on Sunday, defeating Frances Tiafoe with a scoreline of 6-3, 1-6, 6-0. The 21st seed demonstrated an impressive start by breaking early and establishing a 3-0 lead in the opening set. Tiafoe managed to break back in the second set, but Fils maintained his momentum with relentless pressure on the baseline, forcing errors and ultimately securing the match with three aces in the final game.

Tiafoe, competing in his second Cincinnati final, responded fiercely in the second set, breaking twice to lead 5-1 before the match went to a decider. Fils regained control in the third set, breaking twice to lead 4-0 as Tiafoe's backhand errors mounted. The 22-year-old Coco Gauff claimed her second Cincinnati Open title by defeating Jessica Pegula with a dominant 6-2, 6-4 win.

Gauff quickly took a 5-0 lead in the opening set, breaking twice and capitalizing on Pegula's double faults. Although Pegula broke back in the second set, Gauff's powerful forehand proved too formidable, allowing her to swiftly build a 3-0 lead in the second set while Pegula's serving errors continued to pile up.
