Fadu showcases AI data center ambitions at OCP Korea Tech Day

Fadu is anticipating that artificial intelligence (AI) data centers will transform the role of flash memory, expanding its technological offerings as it ventures beyond its conventional focus on solid state drive (SSD) controllers. On Monday, the data center semiconductor company announced its AI data center strategy at the 2026 OCP Korea Tech Day, a conference organized by the Open Compute Project Foundation and the OCP Korea community.

The annual event, held on Friday at COEX in Seoul, attracted approximately 1,500 participants, including major technology players, semiconductor companies, infrastructure providers, and startups. During a keynote presentation, Fadu researcher Kim Seung-min highlighted the impact of the rapid increase in data within AI data centers, emphasizing that it is altering the requirements for flash memory, SSDs, and controllers.

Kim pointed out that the surge in data volume and the associated processing costs pose significant challenges for AI infrastructure. As SSDs assume more specialized roles in terms of memory, performance, and capacity demands, next-generation controllers will need to tackle the need for faster processing capabilities.
