Ex-minister sacked by Tinubu over corruption allegations appointed into president’s campaign

In 2027, the Minister of Defence for Nigeria, General Christopher Gwabin Musa, has decided to support President Bola Tinubu's re-election bid. General Musa has been appointed as the Secretary I of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council. He expressed his gratitude to the President and the APC leadership for entrusting him with this role.

The minister described the appointment as an opportunity to serve the nation more effectively, vowing to carry out his duties diligently and with focus. However, he emphasized that his primary responsibility was to protect Nigeria's territorial integrity and ensure the safety of its citizens. General Musa reiterated that national security remains the highest priority, and ongoing operations, strategic reforms, and inter-agency collaborations within the defence sector will continue with increased intensity.

He called on party members and Nigerians to remain united behind the administration, confident that the APC would succeed at the polls and continue to deliver governance and security across the country.
