EPL: We’re starting to run out of patience’ – Michael Owen warns £125m Liverpool star

Liverpool legend Michael Owen has expressed his growing impatience with Alexander Isak's underwhelming performances since his £125 million transfer to Anfield last summer. The Swedish international, who once shone for Newcastle, has struggled to meet the expectations set by his hefty transfer fee since joining Liverpool. Despite suffering a fractured leg in December and a groin issue in May, Isak managed to play in all four matches of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, but still only managed to score four goals in 22 appearances across all competitions.

Owen, who has experienced numerous injuries throughout his career, understands the challenges of returning from injuries but believes that time is running out for Isak to justify the investment by Liverpool. He emphasized that the club has given him time to recover and perform, but added that they are starting to run out of excuses.

Owen also noted that Liverpool is in urgent need of Isak's return to form, especially after the departure of Mohamed Salah and the injury to Hugo Ekitike.
