EEUU lanza la operación 'Paria Económico' para bloquear las fuentes de ingresos de Irán

The United States has launched a new "Economic Paria" operation to cut off Iran's sources of income, according to US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent. The operation aims to isolate Iran economically by threatening severe sanctions on countries and entities that engage in business with the Islamic Republic. Bessent identified key nodes and networks used by Iran for oil smuggling and evading sanctions, stating that no one is immune from sanctions.

The sanctions will target five vital areas exploited by Iran in other countries: digital assets, technology, gold, aviation, and maritime transport. These measures will increase the risk of secondary sanctions for anyone still doing business with Iran, accelerating US actions against them. The Secretary of State and military leaders are also meeting with their international counterparts to convey the US stance, urging other nations not to participate in the economic war against Iran.

The US has announced additional sanctions targeting over 60 entities, individuals, and ships worldwide, enabling Iran's illicit nuclear and missile programs and petroleum revenues. The operation comes almost six months after the US and Israel launched a military war against Iran, amid stalled peace talks with no prospect of a definitive peace agreement.

The US Navy continues to block Iranian ports and coastal waters, further straining Iran's already oil-dependent economy. Iran has responded by refusing to let Washington dictate the terms of ending the war and warning that it will consider any country joining the US economic war against it as an enemy.
