EAA Foundation supports over 10,000 vulnerable children in Zambia to stay in school

Doha, Qatar: The EAA Foundation, in collaboration with its partner Qatar Fund for Development and World Vision Zambia, has concluded the Empowering Vulnerable Children with Education (EVE) Project in Zambia's Namwala District. The three-year initiative reached over 10,000 at-risk children across 37 schools, with a remarkable 98 percent survival rate.

The project tackled critical issues such as early marriage, poverty, child labor, long travel distances, and subpar learning environments, fostering a more inclusive educational environment. It identified and re-enrolled 1,780 out-of-school children, enabling them to resume their education journey.

To enhance wellbeing and protection, the project launched 37 SAFE Clubs, offering life skills, psychosocial support, and home-based learning assistance to 5,748 learners. Additionally, 74 teachers received training in inclusive teaching methods, and 37 Stay-in-School Committees were empowered to monitor and support at-risk students through a locally developed Student Risk Matrix.

Dr Said Yasin, Executive Director of EAA Foundation's Educate A Child programme, expressed, "The success of the EVE Project demonstrates what can be achieved through commitment and collaboration. We have not only supported thousands of vulnerable children to stay in school but also laid the groundwork for sustainable community solutions."
