Dubai-Sharjah traffic: Motorists face congestion on E11, E311 and other key routes

Dubai-Sharjah motorists can anticipate congestion on several major thoroughfares, including E11, E311, and additional key routes. Al Ittihad Road (E11) remains particularly busy, especially near Al Taawun, Sahara Centre, and Al Nahda. Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road (E311) experiences slow-moving traffic in Sharjah's industrial zones and Muwaileh, with conditions varying throughout the day. Maleha Street and roads surrounding Safari Mall and the Muwaileh Bus Terminal have also been identified as congestion hotspots.

Roadworks are currently underway, with a segment of the dual carriageway alongside Al Hazana partially closed until August 28. This closure impacts traffic moving from Saeed bin Obaid Al Jarwan Square to Sheikh Mohammed bin Sultan Bu Alian Square. Motorists are advised to follow designated detours and allocate additional travel time.

Furthermore, a temporary traffic diversion is in effect at the intersection of Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Street and Mleiha Street, due to ongoing road improvement works. This diversion is projected to remain in place until December 6. Drivers are encouraged to consult live navigation updates prior to departure, refrain from abrupt lane changes, and adhere to temporary signage located near work zones.
