Driver dozes off inside car in middle of Kerala road, causing a traffic jam

In Kerala’s Kottayam district, a young driver reportedly fell asleep behind the wheel of his car on a road near Athirampuzha Palli Junction, causing a significant traffic disruption. The Kerala Kamaudi local website reported that the driver, tired after a long drive, stopped his vehicle on the road and fell asleep. As word spread, commuters and residents approached the stationary car to find the man asleep at the wheel.

Despite several attempts to wake him, the driver remained unconscious. A viral video shows locals shaking the car to rouse him, causing him to suddenly awaken, bewildered and completely unaware of the traffic surrounding him. The driver had apparently fallen asleep while the music was still playing, leading to a major traffic jam that trapped several vehicles, including a KSRTC bus behind his car.

The incident has sparked discussions on social media regarding the importance of road safety and the potential health concerns of drivers falling asleep at the wheel.
