Dott found guilty of sexually abusing children

Former world snooker champion Graeme Dott has been convicted of sexually abusing two young children in Scotland during the 1990s and 2000s. Dott, now 49, was found guilty after a five-day trial at the High Court in Glasgow. The judge has ordered Dott to be held in custody pending his sentencing on September 29.

The first victim, a girl now in her 40s, testified that Dott sexually abused her between 1993 and 1996. She alleged that he would "caress" her bottom over her clothes, expose himself, and touch her with parts of his body, including his penis. The second victim, a boy now in his late 20s, claimed Dott abused him multiple times between 2006 and 2010. He stated that Dott would touch him inappropriately, kiss him, and perform sexual acts.

In response to the charges, snooker's governing body suspended Dott in April 2025, when he was ranked No. 56 in the world.
